EVERY MOMENT COUNTS

Critical NHS was founded as a community based non-profit organisation established in March 2020 to support NHS front line staff and those most vulnerable groups in response to the outbreak of coronavirus, and ‘in-turn’ to help sustain local businesses and restaurants as suppliers.

Within the first four weeks we were able to raise enough funds to provide 25,000 meals across a network of more than 45 local businesses, developing a roster of deliveries co-ordinated across 50 volunteers.  This was supplemented by the provision of personal protective equipment (PPE), smartphones and tablets (so loved ones could see one another from hospital wards), care packages, and groceries including fresh vegetables, eggs, milk. bread, flour, pasta, tinned foods, toiletries and toilet paper.

Expanding quickly, and working with multiple partners, we were able to provide upwards of +1,500 meals a day to NHS frontline staff at 15 hospitals across London, Surrey & Cornwall; and we continue to fund over 600 meals a week to a number of care and community centres that cater for more vulnerable individuals affected by the pandemic. The funds raised by individual donations and our sponsors has helped subsidise over 115,500 meals (to the end of August) and has provided a much-needed lifeline to many local businesses who may otherwise have ceased trading.

“Thank you for the opportunity and, most of all, the lifeline that you have provided for me and my family.”

SPICE VILLAGE

“Seeing how hard it is for the frontline NHS staff in helping the country ease the pain of the pandemic, I felt we as a firm, and myself personally, had to do something significant. The work that Critical NHS is doing is fantastic and I hope others will join us in offering whatever support they can.”
